The Thin Executioner
by Darren Shan
The story is about a scrawny boy named Jebel who is from a very close minded and hateful country and was raised to believe that their race is superior to all the others. The Executioner, a.k.a Jebel's dad, is idolized and it is expected that one of his sons are to succeed him. Jebel decides to go on a quest that no one has ever survived from to prove himself worthy enough. Jebel then sets off with his slave on a series of adventures where he explores different cultures and places. It is such a mind opening story that really highlights acceptance and tolerance.
